A Turtle’s Tale 2 is the perfect pick for a family movie night!

Our family is a movie-loving family.  It seems that when we all can take time out of our crazy days, get together on the couch and watch something together, we feel closer. Life just pauses for a hour or so.  No devices, just all watching the same thing.  We regularly host family movie nights for the four of us, but this time we wanted to invite some more special friends to get a sneak peak at the new A Turtle’s Tale 2: Sammy’s Escape From Paradise (released on DVD on July 9th!).

I hate to say that the snacks play a vital role in the night…but let’s admit it, they do. I asked my two favourite party planners to help create a fun movie screening, fitting for an underwater movie.  We had a great time preparing for the movie night- a trip to the party store for underwater-themed plates, fish decor and leis, of course.  Then, we made a run to the bulk store for special snacks.  We all came up with the idea to have a “concession stand” that night, giving each guest $10 in Monopoly money to spend on treats.  We had price signs with each snack and all of the kids LOVED this idea!!!  Who knew that $1 for 2 gummy worms would be a great deal!

We had a range of kids from age 5-9 and they were all fully engaged in this beautifully animated film (as well as the snacks).  Already fans of other films that take them under the sea, my guys were excited to see this sequel to a movie that they they hadn’t seen.  The adorable characters had the kids in love from the start.  After being poached and placed in an aquarium, Ricky and Ella’s grandpas are trapped and need help to escape.  With both a male and female turtle, the boys and girls identified with the characters in the film and instantly connected with the turtles’ love for their grandparents and determination to help them.  We found ourselves routing for Ricky and Ella as they both found their way back to their family, using team work, bravery and perseverance.  The funniest part of our movie night was when the evil (but tiny) Big D had my youngest son yelling at the screen!

If you would like to create a special movie night with YOUR family, we all gave A Turtle’s Tale 2, all thumbs up!  Rated G, it would appeal best to age 3-10 year olds.  Young kids as well as grown ups will fall in love with the sweet characters and the touching story.  Dive into a Fun-Filled Adventure!

Want to see how beautifully vivid the movie is?  Watch this great trailer before you go out and get the DVD!
