Building the Dream Room

I was really excited to go to York Central Hospital last week with Jayden, to see the progress of the room now that we have reached our goal of $50,000!!!!

The coordinator of the Pediatric and Maternal unit, told us that the majority of the work has been done in the two isolation rooms that will be “ours”.  The rooms have had new flooring, new bathroom fixtures, new linens, new paint and new window coverings.  The furnishings; red sleeper chairs and new cribs are still to come.

I took some photos to help our fabulously generous designers, Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault and Sarah Gunn visualize how to make these rooms look beautiful for those little kids.

I’m hoping when we go to start planning for the murals and decor, that we can breathe some life into the simple rooms and allow the kids to feel as close to home as possible.  I think it would be amazing, if we could do some word art or vinyl in the hallway to inspire the parents, kids and even the staff….”live well, love much, laugh often” is our fave!

Here are the photos of the soon to be “Dream Room”….

Wouldn’t this hallway benefit from some inspirational words in vinyl?

The isolation rooms have air filter units that will be a challenge for sure!
I will be replacing this rolling unit with two new ones full of toys, books, new cds, dvds, Wii games and Elmo movies!
